Community organizations often serve more than one audience at a time. For this client, that meant balancing the needs of customers, local vendors, community partners, and the organization’s board — all while continuing to support the market’s mission of connecting the community with local food producers.

When the market’s director approached our team, she came with a bold idea for how the website could better serve the organization.
She knew what she wanted the site to accomplish and why it mattered — even if the exact path to get there wasn’t fully defined yet.
And honestly, those are some of our favorite types of projects.
We love working with leaders who think big about how their organization can grow and improve. The “how” can always be figured out — but the vision for impact is where great work begins.
The Challenge: A Website That Needed to Serve Multiple Stakeholders
Like many nonprofit organizations the website had grown over time but was becoming difficult to manage and navigate.
The team wanted a site that would:
- Make it easier for visitors to find which products and vendors would be available each week
- Simplify content management for the market administrator
- Better support the needs of vendors, shoppers, and community stakeholders
- Reflect the organization’s vibrant branding and community atmosphere
The website needed to do more than provide information, it needed to support the experience of the market itself.
Designing a Website That Works
With the beautiful new branding and photography as a foundation, we began by designing a fresh site experience that felt as vibrant and welcoming as the market itself.

The new design features:
- Ample white space for easy browsing
- Bold, colorful brand elements
- High-quality imagery, featuring various stakeholders
- A clean, mobile-friendly layout
But design was only part of the solution. To support the director’s original vision, we developed a custom feature that allows the market administrator to update the website easily throughout the season. We also worked with the team to reorganize the site’s content, removing outdated information and consolidating pages so visitors could find what they needed faster.
